Plot: What Is Krrish About?

After Koi Mil Gaya, Rohit Mehra (Hrithik) dies. His wife Nisha dies too, but their son Krishna is born with superpowers from his father and Jadoo. Krishna lives with his grandmother Sonia (Rekha) in a remote village in Himachal. He has super speed, super strength, can run faster than horse, climb mountains.

Sonia hides his powers because she fears people will use him.

One day, Krishna meets Priya (Priyanka Chopra) who comes for a camp. She sees his powers and records it. She takes him to Singapore for a job in her friend's company.

In Singapore, there is a big secret - Dr. Siddhant Arya (Naseeruddin Shah), who worked with Rohit's father, has kept Rohit alive for 20 years in his lab to make a future-seeing computer. He is making superhumans.

Krishna makes a black mask and leather coat and becomes Krrish to save his father Rohit and stop Arya. How Krishna becomes India's first superhero and saves his father is the story.

Why Krrish Became A Historic Hit

Hrithik's Superhero Avatar: Before any Marvel craze, Hrithik did real stunts - jumping from buildings, horse racing, fighting in circus. No VFX double. His double role as Rohit and Krishna/Krrish still gives goosebumps. The mask look is iconic.

Rakesh Roshan's Vision: In 2006 when no one thought of superhero in India, Rakesh Roshan made it with world-class music by Rajesh Roshan (Pyar Ki Ek Kahani, Dil Na Diya). Songs and BGM are still viral.

Flaws: VFX is old

2006 VFX looks cartoonish today compared to Krrish 3. Some Singapore scenes are slow. But for 2006, it was Hollywood level.
