Plot: What Is Time Story (24) About?

The story is about a scientist Sethuraman (Suriya) who invents a time-travel watch called "24". This watch can go 24 hours forward or backward. His evil twin brother Athreya (Suriya again) wants this watch to become immortal and powerful.

Sethuraman dies trying to protect the watch, but his son Mani (Suriya in third role) escapes with the watch and grows up as a watch mechanic.

26 years later, Mani is a happy-go-lucky watch repair shop owner in Chennai who loves Sathya (Samantha). He finds his father's old watch and doesn't know its power. He accidentally goes back 24 hours and realizes its power.

But Athreya, who is still alive at 60+ age with an artificial arm, is searching for this watch for 26 years. When he finds that Mani has the watch, he kidnaps Priya (Nithya Menen) and Mani's family.

How Mani uses the watch to save his love, his mother, and stop Athreya from changing the past is the climax. The interval twist where Athreya comes back and the climax time loop fight is Hollywood level.

Why 24 Became A Cult Classic

Suriya Triple Role: One Suriya as innocent scientist, second as evil bearded Athreya with hunchback walk, third as fun Mani. Athreya's look and acting is terrifying - many say it's Suriya's best villain role ever. No VFX double, all real acting.
