Plot: What Is Bhairathi Ranagal About?

The story goes back to the 1980s in Karnataka. Bhairathi Ranagal (Shiva Rajkumar) is a humble, honest lawyer who believes in justice for poor farmers. He lives with his wife and wants to stay away from crime.

But the system is corrupt. A powerful mining mafia and lawyers exploit the farmers and take their land. When Ranagal's family is attacked and the law fails to give justice, he takes a dark path.

He slowly becomes a dreaded underworld don - not for money, but to protect people. How a simple lawyer becomes the most feared man in Ronapura? How he builds his empire and fights Advocate Parande (Rahul Bose) is the story.

This is not regular mass masala. This is a slow, dark, stylish film like KGF and Kabzaa with Shiva Rajkumar's powerful acting.

Why Bhairathi Ranagal Became A Hit

Shiva Rajkumar's Powerful Comeback: At 62, Shivanna delivered his career best performance. His transformation from a simple lawyer to a mafia don is superb. His dialogues and swag in the second half went viral.

Narthan's Direction: The director of Mufti showed Ronapura underworld again. The 80s setup, background score by Ravi Basrur (KGF fame), and dark cinematography makes it international level.

Rahul Bose as Villain: Bollywood actor Rahul Bose as the cunning advocate is perfect. His cold fight with Shivanna in court and later is highlight.

Flaws: Slow But Stylish

First half is slow, lots of dialogues about law. No songs, no comedy. Some audience may find it boring if they expect Jailer or Ghost style mass action. It is more like a Hollywood neo-noir.
