Kaatera is a 2023 Kannada action drama film directed by Tharun Sudhir. The film stars Challenging Star Darshan in the lead role along with Jagapathi Babu, Shruti, Aradhana Ram, Kumar Govind and Vinod Kumar Alva. Produced by Rockline Entertainments, Kaatera became one of the biggest Kannada blockbusters of 2023 and crossed 100 crores. The Hindi dubbed version was released in 2024 on Adwise Movies and became trending with 7 Million+ views. The film is known for Darshan's mass action and its farmer-based emotional story.


PLOT / STORY OF KAATERA


The story is set in 1970s Karnataka in a village called Honnuvalli.

Kaatera (Darshan) is a blacksmith who lives with his sister and works for farmers. He is very close to farmers and fights for their rights. The farmers are suffering because landlords and powerful people are snatching their lands using fake documents and British-era laws.

One landlord (Jagapathi Babu) and his men are trying to destroy the village to build a project. They also kill people who oppose them.

Kaatera decides to fight back. He studies the old land laws and finds a forgotten law called "Kaatera" which says the land belongs to the one who farms it. How he uses his strength, intelligence and law to give justice to farmers and save his village is the main story.

The climax has powerful court scenes and action.
